I needed a doctors app. On a Sunday but my doctor wasn't available and the medical centre I usually go to was fully booked. I needed antibiotics quickly so rang St Luke's explained my situation and Linda managed to squeeze me in despite also being fully booked but she understood the urgency and was very accommodating. I didn't have to wait long to see a doctor. Positive experience all around.

The administration team were professional, friendly, one staff member went beyond her roles in trying to help me today. After I had seen the doctor, I still had some questions. She listened, gave suggestions and passed me over to a pharmacist to further answer my questions/concerns. I really appreciate this kind gesture. When one is not feeling well, knowing they are being heard is the next best treatment. The pharmacist who helped today was awesome too, he was professional, friendly and had a good humour! The current solution for my rashes is that I have to wait for the dermatologist clinic open in 2 weeks time. Painful, but nothing can be done at this time of the year. Again, I’m very glad of my experiences with the administration team and with the pharmacist. Thank you for your help, you have made my day. Have a pleasant 2024 ahead!

I am sharing our terrible experience at this practice. The receptionist was beyond rude, left us waiting without apology or explanation, failed to help when the unfortunate situation resulted from a miscommunication within the medical surgery between Doctor and receptionist (so no fault of ours) and was poorly trained. My strong advice is if you want professional and empathetic medical care that you choose any other medical practice. My elderly mother whom I accompanied to the appointment has been significantly upset and now has a 24 hour wait, in pain, at a time when all she needed was decent medical care and clear and helpful communication.

I made a phone call on December 29th, 2023, to book an appointment. The receptionist was extremely rude; she claimed she couldn't hear me and requested that I speak up. I replied, "OK, I'll speak up," but she assumed I was on a speakerphone and asked me to take it off. I informed her that I wasn't using any speaker, mentioning that the signal might be weak in my area, and politely asked for more patience. She responded with, 'Do you want this appointment or not? There are many patients waiting, and someone else could just book online.' Her manner was extremely rude.

I feel there are definitely both pros and cons to this practice. Pros: - Plenty of GPs with good availability so it is easy to get a spot at a time that suits you - Cost of the session is affordable after Medicare rebate (about $30 for a standard consult) - Doctors do what you ask I.e. I have never had push back from a GP when requesting a test, referral etc. - Receptionists are pleasant and helpful - Pathology testing available on site - Easy online booking through HotDoc - Have been very pleased with the nursing team Cons - I have been coming here for years and have almost never (with a few exceptions) had an experience where the medical staff seemed particularly interested in supporting me with my health journey. Shout out to Doctor Pham for being the exception to this. - Almost all sessions run for 5 minutes or less, which shows the lack of holistic care and fact finding by the GPs. - Waiting times vary but can be upwards of 30 mins in some cases - Bedside manner of almost all of the doctors could be improved, they certainly don’t give you the warm fuzzies! I say these negatives, but have been coming back for years so it can’t be all that bad. If you want an efficient practice with good availability & doctors that do what you ask of them, this is the spot for you. If you want holistic care with continuity of a GP who knows you well and is interested in your overall health, I wouldn’t say this is the practice for you. Good for a quick script though!

I've been with the practice about 8 years and I continue to be very satisfied. Reception is forever helpful, and waiting times are usually short. But the important thing is the doctors, not reception and waiting times isn't it? I've always received great care, even including being sent to emergency when needed (and being given medical notes for the emergency doctor). I think I have been treated by all the doctors at one time or another and without exception I have had thorough, kind and caring treatment. The doctors are always willing to answer questions and give explanations. If the doctor thinks you need to visit a specialist then they will give you a referral there and then. And I've always been given whatever time is necessary. This is a practice that really deserves to be called professional.
